HylaRx™ is an oral supplement containing Hyaluronan in a gel base for all horses. Hyaluronic acid, or Hyaluronan as it is currently called, role in joint function has been studied for more than half a century.

Hyaluronan (HA) is a polyanionic nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan. It is part of the make-up of synovial fluid and articular cartilage in joints. HA is responsible for the viscosity and elasticity of synovial fluid. Although the data varies, HA concentration and molecular weight generally decrease in joint disease.

HA is thought to increase lubrication of soft tissue in the joint and demonstrate anti-inflammatory effects in joint diseases. HA may also stimulate high molecular weight production in the joint.

HA has been used as an injection for several years, either intra-articular or intra-muscular. While these routes of administration exist, the use of an oral HA offers an easier method of delivery without the possible risk of infections. Oral HA is administrated like a paste dewormer. The Horse Journal (May, 2002) cited positive results in the use of 100 mg per day of oral HA. Their report stated the oral HA worked as well as injectable HA.

HylaRx™ is an oral supplement containing HA for use in all horses. It may be used as a safe effective alternative to injectable HA, in conjunction with joint nutraceuticals, specific orthopedic surgeries, or to extend the effect of injectable HA’s.

Hyaluronic acid sodium gel

Directions for Use:
Administer 10 cc (100mg) per day or as directed by your Veterinarian.

Ingredients: Water, Silicon dioxide, Propylene glycol, Hyaluronic acid sodium, Artificial apple flavoring, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, and FD&C yellow #5

Store: Best stored between 75-80° F, and out of direct sun light.

Directions for Use:
Give 2 ounces (60 ml) per day as a top dress on the feed, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Ingredients: Water, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hyaluronic acid sodium, Artificial apple flavoring, Methylparaben and Proplyparaben (as preservatives)
