Natural
herbs have always been associated with healing and
better health. Most ancient cultures relied on
herbal preparations for medicinal treatment. Even
today, many modern medicines are plant derived.
Now, herbal products are enjoying a triumphant
revival in treating horses. Armed with scientific
research and proven studies, herbal products have
reached a level of efficacy and practicality in
equine health. More and more alternative therapies
are showing efficacy over traditional medicine.
Modern medicines have several shortcomings in
their strategy:
Drugs
can have contraindications or interfere with the
absorption of nutrients.
Drugs
can overwhelm the immune system so that the horse’s
body depends on it.
The
drug misleads the horse’s defense system to the
point that it doesn’t know what to attack and it
attacks everything in confusion–healthy and
harmful cells.
Maintaining
a strong immune system in your horse is not easy
today. Daily exposure to environmental pollutants,
the stress of competition and training, chemically
treated feeds and forage, and the latest in
infectious viral/bacterial mutations challenge
your horse’s ability to stay healthy. The immune
system defense is autonomic and subconscious. A
system that works on its own to fend off or
neutralize disease toxins, and setup a healing
environment for the horse. The immune system is
very sensitive to nutrition deficiencies. That is
why we try to supplement before infectious disease
sets in.

How
can you boost immune system function? |
Herbal
strategies try to enhance the natural immune
system activity, strengthen it, and provide an
environment through cleansing and detoxification
for it to work at its best. Imuno-Guard™ is
specifically designed to provide herbal
ingredients, minerals, and vitamins in a daily
supplement.

What
are the key ingredients? |
Originally
used in fending off the Plague centuries ago,
garlic is the best known and most used herb for
the treatment of horses. Garlic is a natural
expectorant, stimulant, antibiotic, and is an
important agent in addressing viral infections,
asthma, coughs, and bronchitis. Garlic, armed with
the important sulfur compound, “Allicin,”
stimulates the horse’s immune system to produce
more white blood cells, which fight infections. It
is also known for its ability to improve digestive
function by supporting the production of natural
gut flora while killing pathogens that harm the
delicate digestive balance in horses. It also has
been reported for effective fly control.
Ester-C®,
a patented form of Vitamin C in a calcium
metabolite so that it is pH buffered and
non-acidic. Ester-C® contains threonate that
allows it to be more rapidly absorbed and excreted
slower from the body than the traditional form of
Vitamin C, ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is involved in
a number of biochemical processes. Namely, it’s
antioxidant qualities and its ability to boost
immune system function.
